A study showed that the overexpression of ZSWIM3 (zinc-finger SWIM domain-containing protein 3) in MCF-7 cells promotes breast cancer progression and metastasis by enhancing the levels of SREBF1, SREBF2, and the levels of lipids, the effect that was reversed when ZSWIM3 was knocked out [100]. This evidence concerns the gene ZSWIM3 and breast carcinoma.
