Out of 49 tested genes, PAM16, TIMM17B, MFN2, DNM1L, PPARGC1, HTRA2, HSPA9, SPG7, TPCN1, TPCN2, MAP1LC3A, BECN1, PINK1, BNIP3, and PARL genes were in statistically significant and negative correlation with the cardiomyocyte diameter, i.e., the extent of cardiac hypertrophy. The gene discussed is TPCN2; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
