In neurons, the role of Fyn and its interaction with tau in mediating hyperexcitability has been reported in Alzheimer’s disease [15]; moreover, very recently, we demonstrated a significant increase in Fyn–tau interactions in surgically resected temporal lobe from human epilepsy and rat models of temporal lobe epilepsy [16]. The gene discussed is FYN; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
