CD68 and leprosy: The immunohistochemical data presented in Figure 4 shows that samples from PNL nerves had a loss of nerve parenchyma architecture and an intense inflammatory infiltrate distributed in the endoneurium, observed by intense CD68 marking (macrophage marker) and decreased S100 (Schwann cell marker) in the endoneurium compared to non-leprosy control (Figures 4A–D).
