The association between TaPP2C‐a6 haplotypes and PHS phenotypes, together with other GWAS results (Martinez et al., 2018; Tai et al., 2024), supports TaPP2C‐a6 as the likely causal gene of several PHS‐QTLs with breeding potential to improve PHS resistance in wheat. This evidence concerns the gene PPTC7 and Pallister-Hall syndrome.
