CXCL8 and Henoch-Schoenlein purpura: Kimura et al. demonstrated that both serum levels of IL-8 and IL-8-positive perivascular cells were much higher in a patient with EED compared to other patients with skin-localized IgA vasculitis and cutaneous polyarteritis nodosa.13 A more robust IL-8 response, therefore, might explain the phenotypic differences between recurrent LCV and EED.
