The LR+ of 6.00 (95% CI, 1.78–20.21) for the CRP test was sufficiently high to serve as a rule-in test, whereas the elevated LR− at 0.23 (95% CI, 0.09–0.61) could not diminish the pretest probability to a level that would allow for the safe exclusion of sepsis. Here, CRP is linked to Sepsis.
