As shown in Table 2, the number of CD68 + macrophages was significantly higher in samples of patients with germline variants of genes of “regulation of lymphocyte activation” pathway (48/HPFs; IQR:30), in comparison to acromegaly patients without any genetic alterations (40/HPFs; IQR: 28; p-value = 0.008), while the CD8 + T-lymphocytes number was reduced in mutated patients (8.5/HPFs; IQR: 5), compared to wild-type patients (37/HPFs; IQR: 28; P-value = 0.037). The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is acromegaly.
