The dependence of Bcl‐xl in cancer cell survival and growth has led to the development of Bcl‐xl‐specific inhibitors such as A‐1155463, A‐1331852, and DT2216, which were shown to potently induce cell death in different cancer types, including colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, and leukemia.18, 19, 20. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2L1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
