The counting of microvessel density was performed in the same way as the counting of M2 macrophages, wherein microvessels were determined according to weidner’s microvessel density counting method(Vascular quantification followed stringent immunohistochemical criteria: CD31-positive endothelial cell aggregates were deemed countable microvessels when morphologically distinct from adjacent tumor parenchyma and stromal components, irrespective of luminal status. This evidence concerns the gene PECAM1 and neoplasm.
