To better characterize the impact of Rnf-dependent metabolism on fusobacterial virulence, we examined whether disrupting the Rnf complex with a deletion of rnfC affects the expression of FadA and Fap2, two fusobacterial adhesins that are important for fusobacterial colonization and CRC promotion (14, 20, 24).
