Furthermore, given the identical PSMA-binding unit of AB001 and PSMA-617 [30], alongside comparable cell-bound activity and internalisation of [212Pb]Pb-AB001 and [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 (p < 0.05, Fig. 3), and similar reported tumour-uptake in subcutaneous PC-3 PIP xenografts [27, 50–52], the enhanced efficacy of [212Pb]Pb-AB001 is likely to be attributable predominantly to the physical properties of its alpha-emitting daughters rather than differences in ligand properties.
