Evidence suggests that imeglimin, alongside SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists, and thiazolidinediones, may be effective in ameliorating MASLD associated with type 2 diabetes. While the statistically significant reductions in FIB-4 and APRI observed in this study are promising, their clinical significance remains unclear, especially in the absence of histological or imaging confirmation. Here, SLC5A2 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
