Reduced intrahepatic PCSK9 leads to upregulation of LDLRs, thereby increasing LDL-C uptake and thus lowering LDL-C levels in the circulation.19 Twice-yearly inclisiran administration (after the initial and 3-month doses) leads to consistent and effective LDL-C lowering and is well tolerated in adult patients with hyperlipidemia.20–22. This evidence concerns the gene PCSK9 and hyperlipidemia.
