In a PM2.5-induced pulmonary fibrosis model, PM2.5 was shown to downregulate ALKBH5 expression, promote m6A modifications at specific sites of Atg13 mRNA, and activate ULK complex (composed of ULK1, Atg13, FIP200, and Atg101)-mediated autophagy. The gene discussed is ATG13; the disease is pulmonary fibrosis.
