CD34 and acute myeloid leukemia: To better understand the role of individual enzymes in the regulation of glycolytic activity in AML cells, we re-analyzed our previously generated data [10] and correlated protein levels of central carbon metabolism enzymes (including those involved in glycolysis, the TCA cycle and glutaminolysis) of primary AML patient blasts (n = 13; CD34+ fraction, or total mononuclear cells in case of NPM1 mutant AML) with their glycolytic activity as measured by the extracellular acidification rate (ECAR).
