When clinical and laboratory findings were compared, CRP, WBC count, neutrophil count, neutrophil percentage, procalcitonin, and direct bilirubin were found to be significantly higher in the complicated diverticulitis group compared to the uncomplicated group (p < 0.001, p = 0.028, p = 0.003, p = 0.001, p = 0.005, p = 0.02, respectively) (Table 1). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is diverticulitis.
