INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Emodin exerted significant anti-T2DM effects in animal models, mainly manifested in the following aspects: decreasing FBG, 2hPG (IPGTT/OGTT) and IPITT (P < 0.001), reducing TG, TC and LDL-c (P < 0.001), lowering INS (P < 0.001), and improving the index of HDL-c (P < 0.001).
