Laboratory investigations, as outlined in Table 1, showed elevated markers of systemic inflammation, including high C-reactive protein (CRP), increased red cell distribution width (RDW), elevated direct bilirubin, and significant hyperglycemia, all suggestive of an advanced infectious process. Wound cultures were obtained, which later grew multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Here, CRP is linked to Hyperglycemia.
