Importantly, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (allo‐HSCT) appeared to benefit patients with persistent MRD more than those who achieved MRD negativity, suggesting that allo‐HSCT should be prioritized for patients with standard‐risk, NPM1 wild‐type AML who remain MRD‐positive after induction therapy [94]. The gene discussed is NPM1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
