Similarly, levels of intestinal permeability markers α‐1‐antitrypsin (PD: 63.689 μg/g vs. HS: 48.444 μg/g, FDR < 0.01; Figure 2C) and zonulin (PD: 61.320 μg/g vs. HS: 45.811 μg/g, FDR < 0.01; Figure 2D) were significantly higher in PD patients compared to HS. This evidence concerns the gene HP and Parkinson disease.
