In a randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled study (n = 81 with type 2 diabetes), a 4‐week intervention with 10 g/day broccoli sprout powder (225 μmol sulforaphane) resulted in improved fasting serum insulin and insulin resistance by 18.2% and 14.2%, respectively.11 This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
