CD274 and neoplasm: In tumor immune evasion, autophagy may serve the following roles: 1) Autophagy can induce degradation of antigen-presenting molecule MHC-I and immune checkpoint protein CD274/PD-L1 in cancer cells [24,25,45]; 2) Autophagy-related genes can enhance the anticancer effect of immune checkpoint inhibitors by increasing the sensitivity of tumor cells to T-cell cytotoxicity [46,47]; 3) Various stress signals, such as metabolic stress, hypoxia, redox stress, and immune signaling, can induce autophagy in tumor cells.
