To establish the direct involvement of KLF6 in the anti-tumor effect of LCACs, we knocked down KLF6 (Fig. S5G) in HCC cells and found that inhibitory effect of LCAC-16:0 on the growth of HCC cells was abolished upon KLF6 knockdown, signifying that LCACs act through KLF6 (Fig. 5C).
