Although bivariate analysis showed no significant difference in mean CRP levels between COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients, CRP positively correlated with platelet count, fibrinogen, D-dimer, LDH, ferritin, IL-6, AST, and GGT, all markers of coagulopathy, thrombosis, and acute phase response. Here, IL6 is linked to blood coagulation disease.
