In univariate analysis, significant risk factors for MEB included altered mental status at presentation (OR: 3.16, 95% CI: 1.35–7.40, p = 0.008), serum albumin > 4.3 g/dL (OR: 0.22, 95% CI: 0.10–0.65, p = 0.004), and magnesium levels (OR: 0.21, 95% CI: 0.05–0.98, p = 0.046). Here, ALB is linked to muscle-eye-brain disease.
