BRD2 and type 1 diabetes mellitus: Among the candidate genes are receptors for luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin (LHCGR), FSH (FSHR), insulin (INSR), and beta subunit of FSH (FSHB) as well as loci associated with the development of type 2 diabetes (THADA, HMGA2) and type 1 diabetes (RAB5B, SUOX, ERBB3), also involved in ovarian follicle development, androgen biosynthesis, and metabolic regulation [12].
