Non-responders (DAS28-ESR > 3.2) had a lower frequency of alcoholism (p < 0.04), a higher functional disability score (p < 0.01), and higher ESR, CRP (p < 0.01 and p < 0.05, respectively), and IL-6 levels (p < 0.002) in comparison to responders. Here, CRP is linked to alcohol dependence.
