A significant reduction in FTO and ALKBH5 gene expression was also observed in our cohort at the RNA level assessed by transcriptomic analysis (log2FC = −5.2, q-value < 0.001, and log2FC = −4.7, q-value < 0.001, respectively) and RT-qPCR (p < 0.01, and p < 0.01, respectively) in ccRCC patients relative to controls. This evidence concerns the gene ALKBH5 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
