The ATIP1-deficient mice developed a spontaneous, gender-independent cardiac hypertrophy, which was reflected by a significantly increased heart-to-bodyweight ratio of 6.4 mg/g as compared to 4.7 mg/g in WT animals (n = 20 of each genotype; p < 0.05, Figure 4A). This evidence concerns the gene MTUS1 and cardiac hypertrophy.
