DLK expression is significantly upregulated in classic neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's (Hayne and DiAntonio 2022) and Parkinson's disease (Tu et al. 2021), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Le Pichon et al. 2017), glaucoma‐induced optic ganglion degeneration (Welsbie et al. 2017), and glutamate‐induced neuronal excitability poisoning (Fahrenthold et al. 2018). The gene discussed is MAP3K12; the disease is neurodegenerative disease.
