In the present study, compared to T2DM patients, plasma Oment-1 levels were significantly decreased in T2DM + CHD patients (15.55 ± 4.55 pg/ml vs. 13.09 ± 5.35 pg/ml, P = 0.0043; Fig. 1A), whereas MALAT1 expression in peripheral blood cells was significantly increased in T2DM + CHD patients (1.25 ± 0.42 vs. 1.69 ± 0.54, P < 0.0001; Fig. 1B).
