By transfecting genomic DNA fragments from the Ewing sarcoma (ES) cell line IARC-EW1 into the mouse fibro-blast line NIH3T3, isolating transformants that triggered tumor growth, and xenografting into nude mice, USP6 was first discovered as a putative oncogene in 1992 [25–28]. The gene discussed is USP6; the disease is Ewing sarcoma.
