In support of this observation, analysis of TCGA data revealed a positive correlation between PLK1 and IGF2BP2 expression (Spearman’s r ≥ 0.3) across multiple tumor types (Figure 3B), suggesting that IGF2BP2 modulates PLK1 levels and is thus preferentially essential in cancer cells relying on PLK1 overactivation. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2BP2 and cancer.
