Fluorescent CDs-pDEAEMA effectively bound siRNA, remainingstable under physiological conditions, while in vitro studies provedtheir hemocompatibility and cytocompatibility on human dermal fibroblasts.Moreover, the ability to deliver BIRC5 siRNA was demonstrated in MDA-MB-231,successfully transfecting triple-negative breast cancer cells andresulting in an 80% reduction in the anti-apoptotic protein survivin.Furthermore, uptake studies demonstrated that the theranostic CDsare efficiently internalized in tumor cells and are clearly detectableby fluorescence imaging in the red region. Here, BIRC5 is linked to triple-negative breast carcinoma.
