FNDC5 and muscle atrophy: This is in line with a previous report of an association between triglyceride metabolites with serum irisin levels in Korean adolescents.[29] There is also evidence that FNDC5/irisin can heal synaptic function and damage to pattern separation/context discrimination, suggesting that irisin may be an important small molecular active substance to improve muscle atrophy and cognitive function.[14, 15] Further exploration is needed to understand the mechanism of PC in the above process.
