CSF3 and breast cancer: Subsequently, Ma and Baek et al. demonstrated that the activation of the IL-17/G-CSF signaling pathway or the accumulation of cholesterol metabolite 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-HC) can significantly elevate the number of circulating neutrophils, thus promoting angiogenesis and immunosuppression, which accelerates lung metastasis in breast cancer (Ma et al., 2020; Baek et al., 2017; Coffelt et al., 2015).
