They presented a higher percentage of CD8+ T cells and a lower percentage of CD4+ T cells in the serum than patients without a history of hypertension [CD8+ T cells: 35 (24–43) % vs. 27 (19–33) %, p = 0.023; CD4+ T cells: 57 (49–67) % vs. 66 (64–74) %, p = 0.025] (Figure 4).
