Recent impressive data have also emerged regarding the use of anti-CD19 CAR T-cell therapy for the treatment of selected non-malignant diseases, namely systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) (16–18), Myasthenia gravis (19) and other autoimmune conditions (20), taking into account the role played by autoreactive B cells in its pathogenesis (21, 22). Here, CD19 is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
