IL17A and atopic eczema: In inflamed skin, such as that in atopic dermatitis, recent evidence shows a shift from type‐2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2) towards type‐3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3) that can produce the chemo‐attractive cytokines interleukin‐17 (IL‐17) and IL‐26, thus amplifying the immune reaction and thus engendering inflammation [17].
