This finding highlights the correlation between HMGA2 alteration and MDM2 amplification in salivary gland neoplasms, as has been described in other neoplasms (e.g. well-differentiated and dedifferentiated liposarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, lipoma, uterine leiomyoma, spindle cell sarcoma) [19–23]. This evidence concerns the gene HMGA2 and liposarcoma.
