However, it is known that HLA-F also promotes fetal normal growth [70], and, in addition, this molecule modulates the immune system of the peripheral nervous system; it has been found in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis that HLA-F hinders motor neuron death by its binding to inhibitory KIR3DL2 receptors [71].
