Among the monitored laboratory parameters, patients with adenocarcinoma exhibited significantly higher levels of CA 19-9 (563.69 vs. 41.96 ng/mL; p = 0.001), CEA (30.67 vs. 2.81 ng/mL; p = 0.001), AFP (13.0 vs. 5.21 ng/mL; p = 0.001), and CA-125 (578.27 vs. 44.50 ng/mL; p = 0.001), while amylase (46.0 vs. 190.89 U/L; p = 0.001) and total bilirubin (0.55 vs. 1.13 mg/dL; p = 0.047) levels were significantly lower (see Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and adenocarcinoma.
