In the first trimester, CRP was 1.7‐fold higher in overweight women (mean 5.9 mg/L; 95% CI 5.0 to 6.7; p < 0.0001) and 2.7‐fold higher in those with obesity (mean 9.3 mg/L; 95% CI 7.6 to 11.0; p < 0.001) compared to normal‐weight women (mean 3.4 mg/L; 95% CI 3.1 to 3.7).
