Indeed, t-tau (Supplementary Figure S4 A, D) and p-tau181 (Supplementary Figure S4 B, E) abundances were not elevated until the A+T+ (Aβ-positive, tau-positive) biopsy stage, in line with a previous publication [27], indicating that Aβ pathology detected in possible early-stage AD by sensitive in vivo biopsy may not yet be reflected in the fluid biomarkers.
