Notably, among the 18 patients with ATTR amyloidosis in our cohort, genetic testing revealed only one case of variant ATTR (ATTRv), characterized by a pathogenic TTR variant, while the remaining 17 cases were classified as wild-type ATTR (ATTRwt). This striking imbalance reflected the epidemiological predominance of ATTRwt in amyloidosis populations, as reported in prior registries [19]. This evidence concerns the gene TTR and amyloidosis.
