ZNF224, besides its function as a transcriptional regulator in breast cancer and CLL, acts as a cofactor of the protein of Wilms tumor (WT1) and, in such a manner, can regulate WT1 apoptotic target genes in chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cells to exert a tumor‐suppressive role [10, 11, 12]. This evidence concerns the gene ZNF224 and breast carcinoma.
