The presence of interleukin (IL)‐2, IL‐4, IL‐5, IL‐6, IL‐8, IL‐10, TNF‐α and interferon‐γ was significantly more evident in all three cell culture media transfected with plasma from sepsis patients than in controls, indicating that the transfected cells potentially underwent necroptosis (Figure 4).
