When comparing the patients in the compensated stage of cirrhosis with patients with cirrhosis and ascites, serum levels of PV‐1 (median 0.016 vs. 0.166 ng/mL; p < 0.0001) and EndoCAb (median 56.23 vs. 147.2 AMU/mL; p = 0.0025) were higher in patients with decompensated cirrhosis than in patients with compensated liver disease, while serum levels of ZFP were lower (median 18.28 vs. 6.72 ng/mL; p < 0.0001). This evidence concerns the gene ZKSCAN7 and Cirrhosis.
