The upregulation of circNRG-1 has been demonstrated to alleviate apoptosis in atherosclerosis and hypertension model cells treated with ANGII, while circANKRD42 and circUBAC2 are believed to mitigate apoptosis in the context of atherosclerosis and MI through multiple signaling pathways, including the circUBAC2/hsa-miR-200b-3p/HIPK3 axis and circANKRD42/hsa-miR-324-5p/AP1G1 axis [97, 98].
